Pfizer/Pfizer, a biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Basel, Switzerland, has filed for patent rights to the drug Norvasc in the US, and will produce the same drug for the rest of his life in the US.

Norvasc, known generically as amlodipine, belongs to the class of calcium channel blockers and has an anti-platelet action. The drug is currently under patent in the US for its anti-platelet drug, Vioxx. It is indicated for the treatment of hypertension and angina.

Norvasc is the first non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of hypertension, and the first non-hormonal therapy to be approved for angina in the US. It is also indicated for the treatment of the underlying conditions leading to heart attacks, strokes and kidney failure.

This patent filing will enable Pfizer/Pfizer to expand the market for the drug and improve its quality of life. Norvasc is a prescription-only drug, and is not available over the counter in the US.

Pfizer is seeking approval for the production of Norvasc by Norvasc, which is expected to cost the company around $5 million per month. However, the company will likely continue to market Norvasc as a generic alternative to the brand name.

As part of the US Patent and Trademark infringement litigation, Pfizer/Pfizer will seek the US District Court for the Northern District of California for invalidation of Pfizer’s patent for the anti-platelet drug, Vioxx, and will also seek approval from the FDA for the production of Norvasc.

The drug will be marketed in the US through a network of generics, as well as over-the-counter versions. Pfizer/Pfizer hopes to launch Norvasc in the second half of 2020.

Pfizer, which has filed for the same patents as the US patent, is currently awaiting FDA approval to market Norvasc in the US. Norvasc is the first non-hormonal therapy approved for the treatment of hypertension and angina in the US, and is indicated for the treatment of the underlying conditions leading to heart attacks, strokes and kidney failure.

Currently, the drug is not available in the US as a generic equivalent of Norvasc. Pfizer/Pfizer’s patent is not valid in any other country. Pfizer/Pfizer’s US patent is not valid in Canada.

Pfizer is also seeking approval for the production of Norvasc in the US, and will also produce the same drug for the rest of the US.

The drug is currently not available as a generic equivalent of Norvasc.

TORONTO, Dec. 27 -- Canadian pharmaceutical giant Pfizer Inc. announced on Tuesday that its U. S. patent for Norvasc for an antihypertensive drug has expired and it will now be able to market a generic version of the drug.

The Canadian patent has expired and is now in effect and will only become effective on the first day of the United States patent expiration in 2006, Pfizer said. Norvasc is a calcium channel blocker used to treat hypertension, angina pectoris (chest pain), and peripheral arterial disease.

"We are committed to protecting our rights as a brand and bringing a safe and effective medicine that is accessible to all," said Paul J. B. Ritchey, president of Pfizer's Canadian subsidiary.

Norvasc has been the best-selling prescription drug in the world since it was approved by the U. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2000, with sales of $2.6 billion and $3.6 billion in 2006.

The Canadian patent on Norvasc was due to expire in June 2006, though Pfizer was still making Norvasc available as a generic. It was announced last year that Pfizer will begin selling a generic version of Norvasc on Dec. 30.

Norvasc is a calcium channel blocker used to treat high blood pressure and is available as the generic drug, Pfizer said. It is not indicated for people with high blood pressure or heart failure.

Norvasc is a calcium channel blocker that works by relaxing the muscles in the blood vessels and widening the blood vessels, thereby reducing blood pressure.

Pfizer said that the Canadian patent on Norvasc will expire in 2006, but will only be effective on the first day of the U. patent expiration in 2006. Pfizer will continue to manufacture and sell Norvasc until the expiration of the patent in June 2006.

Pfizer plans to offer Norvasc generic at lower prices than the branded version. It will be available in 50 mg, 100 mg, 200 mg, and 400 mg strengths, with prices starting from $30.99 per milliliter.

Norvasc is indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure in people with hypertension, angina pectoris (chest pain), and peripheral arterial disease, said Pfizer CEO Robert White.

"Norvasc is a highly effective treatment for hypertension, angina pectoris, and peripheral arterial disease. It works by relaxing the muscles in the blood vessels and widening the blood vessels, thereby reducing blood pressure," White said. "It is not recommended for people with heart failure, liver failure, or kidney disease."

Pfizer said Norvasc's patent will expire in April 2006, but will only be effective on the first day of the U.

Norvasc is an effective prescription anti-inflammatory medicine used to relieve moderate to severe symptoms of angina pectoris (a type of heart attack). The medicine works by blocking the production of certain natural substances in the body that causes angina pectoris. The exact mechanism of action is unknown. The active ingredients are: amiloride, calcium carbonate, and nitrates.

Norvasc was originally developed as an anti-hypertensive medication. Later, it was used to relieve chest pain and as a potassium-sparing diuretic. It was later used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and edema (fluid retention) caused by heart-related diseases. It is sometimes used to reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke.

Norvasc is manufactured by Merck & Co. The active ingredients are: amiloride, potassium chloride, sodium chloride, and magnesium stearate.

Norvasc belongs to a class of medicines known as calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing the blood vessels in the body and increasing the blood flow to the penis. This helps to relieve angina pectoris and prevent the narrowing of blood vessels.

Norvasc is only available with a doctor's prescription.
