Uses of Norvasc Amlodipine Vanillaancestral tablets are indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe edema (fluid retention) associated with congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver and renal disease. Amlodipine belongs to a class of drugs called calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing the blood vessels, thereby helping to increase blood flow to the penis, allowing for an erection when aroused. It is not recommended for use in children. For external use only. Oral tablets are indicated for the treatment of partial or total penile tissue hemorrhage. Amlodipine may be used with or without food as a temporary cure for partial penile tissue hemorrhage. It should be used with caution in patients with severe renal disease or severe hepatic impairment. If symptoms persist, then discontinue the drug and consult a doctor. The dosage is based on factors such as age, weight, gender, age at onset, race, level of impairment, dose change, and patient status. Do not take more than the recommended dose or dosage level. Notify your doctor immediately if you experience any of these rare side effects or other side effects not listed above.Warnings and Side Effects of Norvasc Amlodipine Common side effects of Amlodipine may include vomiting, upset stomach, headache, dizziness, flushing, stuffy nose, and dizziness that usually subside as the body adjusts to the medication.
